1. Which one is better, a food trailer or a food truck ?
We believe food concession trailers, especially our Truvie Trailers, are better for a number of reasons:
1) Price: A fairly new food truck usually costs from $30,000 to $80,000 with new equipment. New concession trailers range from $15,000 to $30,000 with new equipment.
2) Insurance: The price of insuring a trailer is considerable lower than insuring a food truck.
3) Engine problems: Whenever you have engine issues in a food truck, you’re out of business until it is fixed, which can mean several thousand dollars in lost sales.
4) Size: Trailers are shorter than food trucks (usually) which means you have more venues available to choose from, and some places who rent floor space charge by the foot.
On the other hand…
Food trucks are easier to maneuver as compared to a trailer. Trailers are difficult to park.
The choice between the two will mostly depend on your business – if you plan to work mostly at one location, or at “events” where you set up for a day (or sometimes even weeks), a trailer might be your best option (especially if you already have a truck to haul the trailer with), while if you plan to just drive and set up on the crowded street for a couple of hours, a truck will probably suit your needs.
2. Why Choose Truvie Trailers?
1) Truvie Trailers vs. Other trailers in the market
The other food concession trailers in the market are usually large and more expensive. They have poorer maneuverability, and higher gas expenses. They may require a special towing vehicle and occupy a bigger lot for parking. Some “brand new” concession trailers are converted from used trailers. Their design and construction may have to rely on what's available. Regardless of potential maintenance cost and future resale value, the essential question is whether you would like a flipped house or a new house built from your own blueprint?
Truvie Trailers are newly designed according to your operational needs and the requirements of your local authority. The trailer material is same as the high-end RV. They are also optimized to minimize the overall size and weight without compromising comfort and the needs of the business operation. Most of Truvie Trailers can be towed by small or medium SUV, no need to buy a towing truck, which saves $10,000 and $30,000 in initial investment of fixed cost. A smaller trailer also means improved maneuverability, better gas-mileage, and lower maintenance cost.
As an US-based business, we offer customers real warranty on our trailers. Truvies retain resale values well.
